A central component of Terra Summer is the farm. Students learn to grow their food and tend to it, and learn about the mechanics, poetry, and reality of farming. It is also here that students learn about plant biology and all the fun scientific matters related to farming— including bugs and worms and ancient techniques for fertilizing and enriching the soil. We also discuss the world of industrial farming and its impact on the environment and animals.
The farm at Terra Summer is a luscious 16-acre working organic farm. It will supply food to the Terra kitchen and help make the program as self-sustaining as possible.
