The Seed

Terra Summer was born of the idea that food—from cultivation to cooking and consumption— is a remarkably versatile, rich, and fascinating vehicle to teach children about all academic subjects: math, geometry, geography, history, anthropology, biology, physics, chemistry… and the list goes on and on. Food becomes the thread that links all disciplines and helps connect them and make sense of them in an organic and holistic manner. This includes the exploration of all the economic, social, environmental, and ethical issues related to food and its production.
